Higher SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — A Bucks County lady has been sentenced to jail time in the loss of life of an 11-thirty day period-aged toddler she was caring for in August 2019.

Lauren Landgrebe, 50, pleaded responsible in June to felony counts of involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of youngsters, functioning a daycare facility without having a license and tampering with evidence.

The little one died Aug. 27, 2019, from asphyxiation by strangulation right after currently being placed improperly in a vehicle seat and left unattended for about two hrs, officials stated.

Higher Southampton Township law enforcement have been dispatched just soon after 4 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2019, to Landgrebe’s residence for a report of an unresponsive infant partially strapped in a automobile seat on the dining area desk.

The little one was taken to Abington Clinic, where by she was pronounced lifeless at 5:15 p.m.

Investigators claimed Landgrebe placed the newborn in the car or truck seat at 1 p.m. for a nap right before going outside to lie by the swimming pool at her residence.

At 2 p.m., Landgrebe returned and gave the baby a bottle, which she propped up on a rolled hand towel for the reason that the little one could not hold the bottle herself.

Landgrebe invested the upcoming two hours by the pool and did not return to check on the youngster till 4 p.m., investigators mentioned.

But all through a individual interview with authorities, Landgrebe said she took a image of the napping little one at some level immediately after 2 p.m. but deleted it from her photos while her partner was on the phone with crisis responders.

Investigators had been able to recuperate the picture, which confirmed the car or truck seat’s leg straps were being not engaged and the child was slumped minimal in the automobile seat with the chest strap close to her neck.

The leg straps would have prevented the toddler from sliding down in the seat, officials explained.

Through an autopsy, a mark regular with a chest strap buckle was found on the baby’s neck, and the coroner identified the child died from asphyxia thanks to strangulation from a car or truck seat restraint.

Landgrebe could now commit nearly two several years in county prison for the crime.
