A new special treatment toddler unit (SCBU) at Waitākere Healthcare facility has not been opened to patients just after it was discovered the hospital’s ability source wasn’t robust sufficient to run it.
The new unit was formally opened on June 15 in a ceremony with ministers, staff and stakeholders, but toddlers and their dad and mom are still to enter the constructing.
A spokesperson for Te Whatu Ora, Wellbeing New Zealand, claimed when it had been “hoped” the unit would be up and managing by now, perform was needed to increase electrical energy so the unit and the rest of the hospital could all run together.
